JPMorgan says Ray Eyles is new Asia commodities head
(Reuters) – JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) said on Wednesday it has appointed Ray Eyles to head its commodities business in Asia Pacific, replacing Oral Dawe, who is retiring.
Eyles, a trading specialist and formerly the head of Global Commodities Strategic Trading in London, was in-charge of the desk which has fewer than 20 traders, with one based in the United States and the rest in the United Kingdom.
A person briefed on the matter told Reuters on Tuesday that JPMorgan Chase has shut its proprietary trading desk and the bank redeployed affected staff from the unit, as the investment bank looks to comply with new U.S. banking laws.
